 The Mata Rocks is a tranquil beachfront hotel on laid-back Ambergris Caye. It is located a short ride south of San Pedro, the largest community on Ambergris Caye. The soft sandy beach just outside your door at Mata Rocks is perfect for romantic strolls and a quick dip or casual snorkeling. Tall shading palms dot the white sandy beach and the color and clarity of the water is incredible. The Hotel Mata has eleven habitaciones and six Jr. Suites, all with modern furniture. For local color and flavor, there are about 25 restaurants and tiny outdoor cafés within a 20-minute walk from Mata Rocks. Walking along the beach is a favorite way to go dining in SanPedro!
All habitaciones at the Hotel Mata Rocks feature ocean view, air-conditioning, private showers, cable TV and a mini fridge. In addition the Jr. Suites include a full kitchenette. Easy accessible, in the center of the property and close to the bar, you will find a fresh water pool. The “Squirrel's Nest” Bar is right on our beach under a large palapa. It has a full bar and offers snack foods throughout the day. It is also the place for your complimentary buffet style continental breakfast. Fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, locally baked sweet rolls, toast and a variety of fruits are offered.
